lot of bay area companies that frequent asia for business have already stopped employee travel altogether the as a caution as they says walking around talking to people traveling internationally some people going to singapore summit we're going to you name it people saying that they are taking precautions are doing things to avoid getting the coronavirus. >>other than wearing a mask in washington have as much possible that's about it. no real need to worry and my mind anyway, but the >>and that's what a lot of people are telling me they said they not too worried. but i'm also wash my hands a lot of a mask so people are definitely worried enough to the point which is on their minds while they travel internationally. again is halt on all china flights, it's going to be for the next 6 weeks and people have to just go to other airports to get to china but seems like a lot of
other airlines already stop these flights back on sunday to just be ahead of this already so though can cost whole lot of money during this time, it's going to cost the airlines lot of money too. for now live at sfo sarah stinson kron 4 >>and we have an update now to breaking news story that we reported earlier this morning where there was a hunt for a suspect in a san jose neighborhood they did take that person into custody, turns out it was a homicide suspect it took several hours overnight of searching the area and talley road avista very day and it turns out that that person is being treated at a hospital for non-life threatening injuries from a dog bite. happening now 2 men are in the hospital with life threatening injuries after being hit by a car in san francisco and a 3rd victim was treated by paramedics this car crashed at the corner of 23th mission streets. first it was a black tree us being pursued and hit a muni bus and then

year-old woman who was injured actually at that very intersection last month was there when our cameras arrived and she talked about the need for safer streets. >>and i showed up here in my running clothes because i want to run again. i want to heal i want this to be safe and i want to run through the streets of parents is going to thank all of you. >>san francisco's working through a plan right now that aims to eliminate all pedestrian deaths in the city within the negt 4 years. >>a bus only lanes might be coming to the bay bridge should supposed to help reduce congestion but the bay area toll authority says congestion on the approaches to the bridge is actually causing bigger delays for buses during the morning commute traffic is heaviest not on the bridge but leading up to the structures east entrance improving congestion there is where they plan to start while there may be it may be appropriate at some point. >>and to establish a bus only lanes on the bay bridge. that lane really. meet the performance targets it would
need unless we address the problems on approaches to the bay bridge that's on interstate 80. that's on interstate 5 8880 and on west grant. >>work on the projects could end or get under way before the end of the year. >>the kron 4 morning news a closer look at the effects of vaping as california doctors warn more young kids are addicted to nicotine. plus a public corruption scandal in san francisco is expanding we'll break down the latest details this morning. and as we check the markets we've got winners and losers with financial expert rob like coming up in a moment as the dow sits in the negative 44 points at growing up in la, bad air forced us indoors.
he led us to victory. same with the keystone pipeline. when tom says we can save the world and do it together believe him. i'm tom steyer and i approve this message. >>all right we are back 9 15 is the time john here with the forecast for today. well, i guess i see a little bit of sunshine peeking through the fog just a touch yeah we're getting their little bits of rightness between the gray. you know what we've been spoiled lately so when you're just talking about a little bit of gray skies because there could be a lot worse. but san francisco, yeah you can see across the bay area. i'm not a whole lot of fog as of right as it is just low cloud cover sitting right above the other perspective looking down at it from sun old looks really nice this is the sunshine that you have to look for to later on. >>there's obviously that white
puffy blanket of cloud cover that sitting right below the hills above and that's what we're seeing at least most of us are sitting at right across the bay right now later on today skies will clear out you are going to have fog streaming right back to the golden gate pretty early this afternoon though we've got a pretty strong onshore flow. this is key taking all that cool marine air and just pushing it right into the bay, so sure you're going to have a burn off of fog later on this morning, but you're also going to have a pretty persistent wind that's going to try to push that marine layer through the golden gate through the day. so brief burn off early this afternoon that a line of fog will stream back in mid afternoon and into tomorrow morning another dose of that fog to be expected for your valentine's day morning. 50's and 60's for high temperatures today, a little cooler out along the coast and you can guess why because we do have that on shore flow keeping that cool marine air with us well temperatures for areas further away from the pacific are going to be just fine mountain view up to 65 san
jose 6600 sunshine this afternoon and for the east bay, some solid mid 60's as well so still a touch above average for these temperatures but definitely closer to seasonal averages than where we were earlier this week. sonoma and napa you will be at 66 this afternoon with santa rosa very nice at 65. as i mentioned tomorrow. we start with the great again, but and with some sunshine for valentine's day saturday likely to be a few more areas of fog saturday morning but a warmer and sunnier afternoon as highs roll back up into the upper 60's to low 70's. sunday could come along with some light sprinkles in the north bay and that is your only invest chance of rain in the forecast. >>robin far right off to the richmond center fell we're checking in on west bound 5.80. and doesn't it look good this commute is over traffic, nice and light and smooth here leading up to the richmond sandra fell bridge toll plaza so at least this is one bridge that our at 7 minutes to the north bay from oakland to san francisco, your commute here on 80 it standing
out, but it's not great your backup no longer spills all the way through the maze like we saw earlier but it starts right around west grand and then from that point through the pay gates up the incline but we're down to 11 minutes into san francisco, which is really good. we don't have hot spots out there coming from the east shore freeway that's a 20 minute trip coming in from west 24th standing out to 18 minutes from wanna creek over to oakland. >>time to talk winners and losers on wall street financial expert rob black sharing his knowledge with once more this morning, thank you being here. so we have record number of 4 o one k and ira millionaires apparently this is because the stock market's been on a tear here recently, everybody's net worth is kind of gone up a little bit that if they're in the market for sure okay, it's also a combination that people are putting in more money into the r a to the tune of 3% more. um i don't know why but that kind of participation is a good thing there's more automatic cuts for one k's as well. but 441,000 ira or 4, k
accounts with fidelity. now have a balance of the million plus that's just one 0.6% of all the foreign case they hold, but again those ages range the bad news for the good news is average came outside 12,000 right now that's up 7% in the last 90 days probably because the market. bite boomers people 56 to 74 years old they don't have that balance of $210,000. and that's a balance of the ultra millionaires can find with the average account so the median is only $69,900 which again if you have a car that gets replaced our roof, there's not a lot of wiggle room this retirement numbers for the builders have that low of a balance. if they were draw that money down on a yearly basis. the top $3500 a year which is not very stuff to bill to help support you when it gets hour that save or yeah my kids started using ok

seeking other products in the interim i think that it will be really critical for us to come up with ways to help these wean themselves off of this addiction and again part of it is a recognition that they are addicted to much higher levels than we traditionally have ever seen. >>there's a just taking away vaping products doesn't necessarily mean the problem will go away. they may turn to other devices now the state department of health says that as of this week there have been 208 cases of vaping-related lung injuries and since last august there have been 4 deaths across 31 counties here in california. patients ranging in age from 14 to 71 years ol the federal government recently banned the sale of some flavored e cigarette products and now. the california legislature's thinking about a full ban the sale of all flavored tobacco products. >>in the north bay one person is dead after leading police on a chase in valais how police got 2 calls about a smash-and-grab robbery on admiral callaghan's lane and one of the callers was able to give them a description of the

this next 7 days shows temperatures remaining in the 60's. tomorrow very similar to today with fog to start sunshine to close out your valentine's day in just a slight chance of some showers in the north bay on sunday. besides that staying dry and staying warm. robin and the traffic is still flowing, it's easing up just a little bit here on the san mateo bridge. so for people waking up late crossing the bay there still a lot of traffic out there not as much as earlier this morning during the 7 8 o'clock hour. >>we're down to 23 minutes, a stall out of the way but as you can see it's still going to be under the limit heading to the peninsula heading from the north bay to san francisco. there's our zipper truck right there the big yellow truck switching around the lane configuration because the commutes over so you're going to have 3 lanes on both sides now 21 minutes nevado to san francisco, we also still have heavy traffic at the bay bridge toll plaza but it's not a bad commute it's going to be backed up be on west grand it has thinned out in the maze and it's quiet on the upper
deck you're averaging 13 minutes, i'll give you another hour or so and it's just going to stay like this is has become our new normal remember when this commute use a thin out at like 8 o'clock 9 o'clock in the morning. i know it feels like a long time ago that that's no longer the 13 minutes into san francisco for checking on a highway for 19 minutes antioch to concord and 6.80 wide open 13 minutes from a lot of buzz about the coronavirus and the sports world is no different. the virus has wiped out olympic qualifiers in china. but organizers say the tokyo games will go on japan is continuing to build its field of dreams because as kevin costner knows if you build it they will come but will they the ceo of the tokyo organizing committee said that he was seriously worried the coronavirus could throw cold water on the games and then the next day he quickly put that fire out saying let me be clear we are
not considering postponing or canceling the olympics. japan reported its first death from the coronavirus yesterday its neighboring china that suffering the most with more than 1300 deaths the summer olympics are expected to attract more than 11 1000 athletes from 200 countries. no gender so far from the warriors steph klay and ray are hoping to play for team usa under coach kerr spring training is officially underway in arizona for the giants and the a's, the giants pitchers and catchers are stretching their in scottsdale arizona. they haven't made the playoffs in 4 years maybe things will be different under new manager gabe kepler expectations are way higher for oakland because the a's are coming off 97 winds and back to back playoff appearances. they are working out just down the road from the giants in mesa the rest of the guys on both teams arrive on monday. a lot of people were thrown shade at bucs quarterback jameis winston for
throwing so many interceptions. 30 last season, nobody saw more since 1980 the 49 ers were on the receiving end of 3 of them and their first game last year. >>that's the same time winston also managed throw the most touchdowns with 33. but now we know while he was 3030 his vision was far from 2020 turns out. james has always been near sighted he's been squinting at the scoreboard since florida state and he's just now doing something about it he posted this pic of himself in shades with the caption. they know, and now that we all know he had lasik surgery we're going to have to see it's his future is any brighter. the future for all comes is over the guys who started the male robber trend in 2017 trend was it they're going out of business and they got a brilliant idea for bros while going to college and they say now that they're out
they don't have time for it anymore. well they would have time if they were all on one zip james and book you're good to go don't worry though i saw plenty of other companies online selling one piece outfits james for men and if you're in the city if they haven't looked like little too formal for the formally there was a totally would go or maybe you would like to wear a comfortable shoe. >>that looks like a crock and taste like chicken but. kentucky fried chicken have joined forces to offer the kfc. and my don't know if that actually taste like chicken because i'm not going eat it. but it does smell like chicken i kid you not supposedly these crocs smell like chicken and they really do look like the bucket they are unisex because crocs are equally comfortable and ugly on men and women. and
you can buy on men are well my so who $60 or maybe if you prefer and how you can support these vans specially designed to look like the famous burger joints containers, i think they're also about 60 bucks and a little more low key. they make less of the statement i think james steps that i could see my son where this goes what's more yeah because what do you wear with a chicken bucket right aside from a well you can wear a shorts the we've solved all of your fashion problems this morning that's the
so we can spend a bit today, knowing we're prepared for tomorrow. wow dad, do you think you overdid it maybe? i don't think so... what do you think, peanut? nope! honey, do you think we overdid it? overdid what? see? we don't think so, son. technically, grandparents can't overdo it. it's impossible. well planned, well invested, well protected. voya. be confident to and through retirement.
